IVRS Youth Care Facility – Upland (McTigue Arch)

Project Overview

This project involves the design of a new two-story medical clinic at 1260 East Arrow Highway in Upland, California, totaling approximately 12,000 square feet of interior space. The scope includes interior architectural and MEP systems, limited exterior lighting and power, and a new elevator. Design also encompasses coordination of new utility service connections with the existing campus infrastructure, working closely with the civil engineer and campus facilities team to ensure seamless integration and operational efficiency.

Project Scope

Electrical Engineering
Our electrical design services for this new two-story medical clinic include evaluating site conditions, establishing a new point of connection, and coordinating all required service and equipment. We provide a complete interior electrical system design, including lighting circuiting plans, lighting control diagrams per Title 24, energy compliance calculations, emergency egress lighting layouts, and power distribution plans for mechanical and plumbing systems. Low-voltage conduit layouts, single-line diagrams, voltage drop, and short-circuit calculations are also included, ensuring code compliance, system reliability, and seamless integration with architect-provided layouts.

Mechanical Engineering
Mechanical services encompass full design and specification of HVAC systems for the clinic, including zoning diagrams, new rooftop units, air distribution layouts, and supplemental cooling for server rooms. We design all supply and return diffusers and provide Title 24 mechanical energy and building envelope compliance calculations. Our approach ensures efficient, comfortable, and code-compliant environmental systems tailored to the functional needs of the medical facility.

Plumbing and Fire Protection
Plumbing design includes coordination with civil engineers and site facilities to establish service connections, along with plumbing for restrooms, exam rooms, and breakroom fixtures. Riser diagrams and calculations are provided to ensure accurate installation and compliance. Fire protection services include design criteria for the sprinkler system, with main riser locations coordinated with the architect and civil engineer. This integrated approach guarantees safe, reliable, and code-compliant plumbing and fire protection systems for the new clinic.
