Project Overview

MEP Engineering for East LA College Language Arts Center

The new 60,000-square-foot East LA College Language Arts Center was envisioned as a dedicated hub for language-based programs, integrating modern classrooms and support spaces within an active campus environment.

This ground-up educational development required a coordinated MEP engineering approach to align with the campus master plan while supporting diverse academic functions and phased construction within an occupied campus.

Project Scope

MEP engineering design includes the development of a new academic building housing classrooms and support spaces for departments such as English, American Sign Language, Foreign Language, Speech, ESL, and Reading. The project also includes coordination with site infrastructure and landscape design elements.

The scope required integration of HVAC design, electrical design, and plumbing design to support varied instructional environments while ensuring compatibility with existing campus systems. The project incorporates high performance building systems to improve comfort energy efficiency and long term operational reliability.
