Project Overview

MEP engineering for Iron & Kin supports the renovation of an approximately 1,614-square-foot, single-level sandwich cafe located at 3822 Overland Avenue in Culver City, California.

The restaurant renovation encompasses the kitchen, dining area, restroom, storage, and associated support spaces. The project features an all-electric kitchen, an above-ground grease interceptor, and a food service concept designed without commercial exhaust hoods.

The engineering approach focuses on efficiently integrating the renovated mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems with the existing building infrastructure while supporting restaurant operations, customer comfort, and long-term system reliability.

Project Scope

MEP engineering services include mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design for the complete cafe renovation.

Electrical engineering supports the all-electric food service equipment and associated restaurant loads while utilizing the existing electrical utility service, which is anticipated to have sufficient capacity without requiring a service upgrade.

Mechanical systems are coordinated with the kitchen and dining areas based on a restaurant concept that does not require exhaust hoods. Plumbing design includes connections for kitchen and restroom fixtures along with coordination of the above-ground grease interceptor.
