Project Overview

The project will consist of the following:

  • A new 26’ x 57’ trellis with lighting and overhead-mounted electric heaters
  • Plumbing and electrical infrastructure for a future bar
  • A 6’-6” x 100’ motorized retractable awning or trellis, which may be roof-mounted or building-mounted
  • A new exterior storage structure adjacent to the existing cooling tower

Project Scope

Lam Tea Engineering provided full Electrical and Plumbing design services for the enhancement of an outdoor hospitality space. The project features a new trellis structure with integrated lighting, heating, and provisions for a future bar—designed to create a comfortable and functional environment that complements the existing architecture. The design scope included the following systems: Electrical and Plumbing.

Electrical Engineering

  • Review of existing record drawings
  • Site observation and survey
  • Lighting circuiting and controls for the trellis and storage structure
  • Power circuiting for outlets and devices
  • Power design for trellis heaters, retractable louvers, storage structure, and miscellaneous equipment
  • Emergency lighting photometric calculations
  • State energy calculations and compliance forms
  • Coordination of outlet locations and utility requirements based on drawings provided by others, to be incorporated into the electrical documents
  • Preparation of single-line diagrams

Plumbing Engineering

  • Review of existing record drawings
  • Site observation and survey
  • Plumbing utilities for the future bar
  • Design of new floor drains and a three-compartment sink
  • Irrigation water supply to planters
