Narrator Studios – Campus Electrical Service Upgrade

Project Overview

The project will consist of upgrading the electrical service and service equipment for a video editing studio campus consisting of multiple existing buildings in various stages of design and construction.

  • Scope will include providing up to 3 different electrical distribution schemes (single line diagrams and site plans) for project team and contractors to evaluate.
  • Service design will also include provisions/capacity for possible future 10,000 square feet building on North end of campus.
  • Stamped/signed drawings of the preferred design will be provided for utility coordination and plan check/permit.

Project Scope

Electrical Design Services

Lam + Tea Engineering provided Electrical Engineering design services focused on upgrading and coordinating the utility service infrastructure across the campus. The scope included preparing detailed service load calculations and schedules to verify system capacity and ensure adequate power distribution for both existing and future building demands.

The team developed updated single-line diagrams for the upgraded utility service and produced electrical drawings for new equipment and the main switchboard, including dimensional coordination and proposed locations. Electrical site plans were prepared for use by the utility company to facilitate installation and verification of service points.

Coordination with the utility company was an integral part of the process, including meetings with the service planner and engineers to confirm technical requirements and design compatibility. Lam + Tea also reviewed existing as-built drawings to evaluate current service capacities and analyzed new design drawings for ongoing renovations to ensure proper electrical service integration and load distribution throughout the campus.
