MEP engineering for the Chopard – South Coast Plaza project supports the interior renovation of an approximately 2,275-square-foot, single-story luxury retail space at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, California.
The project includes new and revised mechanical, electrical, lighting, and plumbing systems supporting the transformation of the existing space into a refined luxury boutique environment. Engineering systems are carefully coordinated with the architectural and interior design to support customer comfort, jewelry and merchandise presentation, retail operations, and back-of-house functions.
Because the final space plan was still under development at the start of the project, the MEP design requires a flexible approach capable of accommodating evolving architectural and brand requirements.
Project Scope
MEP engineering services include new and revised HVAC, electrical power, lighting, and plumbing design throughout the approximately 2,275-square-foot retail space.
Mechanical systems are coordinated to maintain comfortable environmental conditions throughout customer-facing and support areas. Electrical infrastructure supports retail operations, point-of-sale equipment, specialty displays, and architectural lighting.
Lighting design is closely coordinated with merchandise displays and the interior architecture, an especially important consideration within a luxury jewelry and watch retail environment. Plumbing modifications are integrated with applicable employee and support spaces while utilizing existing shopping center infrastructure where practical.
