Lift To Rise HQ – Phase 1
Project Overview
This project involves the partial interior renovation of a two-story office space within an existing building at 75175 Merle Drive in Palm Desert, California. The remodel includes updated designs for lighting, power, HVAC, and plumbing systems across all areas, ensuring efficiency, comfort, and code compliance. In addition, the scope includes revisions to the building’s existing exterior wall, integrating interior and exterior improvements to create a cohesive, modern workspace that meets the client’s functional and aesthetic goals.
Project Scope
Electrical Engineering
Electrical design involves reviewing as-built documentation and observing existing site conditions to evaluate system capacity and connection points. The scope includes design of the interior electrical system with lighting circuiting plans, lighting control diagrams per Title 24, state lighting energy compliance calculations, emergency egress lighting layouts, and power circuit plans for general, mechanical, and plumbing systems. Single-line diagrams, voltage drop, and short-circuit (AIC) calculations are also provided. Lighting fixture layouts and specifications are supplied by the Architect, while low-voltage system layouts and devices are coordinated but designed by others.
Mechanical Engineering
Mechanical design involves reviewing as-built documentation and observing existing site conditions to evaluate HVAC needs. The scope includes design and specification of new HVAC equipment, air distribution layouts, supply and return diffuser placement, and zoning diagrams for coordination. State-required mechanical energy compliance calculations, including Title 24 envelope modeling, are provided to ensure system efficiency and code compliance.
Plumbing Engineering
Plumbing design involves reviewing as-built documentation and observing existing site conditions to evaluate system capacity and layout. The scope includes design of new restroom and breakroom fixtures, as well as HVAC condensate drainage. All designs are coordinated with electrical and mechanical systems to ensure functionality, efficiency, and seamless integration throughout the renovated space.
